Celtic thrashes Hearts 4-0 to stay clear in SPL


GLASGOW, Scotland (AP): Celtic thrashed third-place Hearts 4-0 on Wednesday to stay five points clear of fierce Glasgow rival Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
Ireland striker Anthony Stokes scored a goal in each half, adding to strikes by James Forrest and Paddy McCourt, to give Hearts only its second defeat since October.
Rangers cruised to a 2-0 victory over second-bottom Aberdeen, courtesy of goals by defender Madjid Bougherra and striker Nikica Jelavic.
Hearts is now five points behind Rangers, which has two games in hand over Celtic.
