AREQUIPA, Peru (AP): Edson Montano's 60th-minute goal salvaged a 1-1 draw for Ecuador against Uruguay on Thursday in the second round of South American qualifying for the Under-20 World Cup.
Camilo Mayada gave Uruguay a 1-0 lead in the 17th.
Ecuador and Uruguay have both picked up four points from two second-round games.
All six teams in the second round play each other once with the top four advancing to the U20 World Cup later this year in Colombia.
The top two advance to the 2012 London Olympics.
Thursday later games were Argentina vs. Chile and tournament favorite Brazil against Colombia.
