Most hotels in Doha fully booked

MOST hotels in Doha are packed full and organisers hope there will be bumper crowds during the tournament – and prove to the doubters they have what it takes to host the World Cup.
“We have only a few rooms left,” The Peninsula newspaper on Friday quoted an official from a budget hotel as saying.
“Right now you can walk in and we will give you a room, but not tomorrow,” he added.
All budget hotels were expected to be full, the newspaper said, while most other hotels also reported full occupancy. Saudi nationals were believed to be among the biggest group of fans, the report said.
The Gulf side and its football administrators are hoping to silence sceptics who have pointed to their lack of football pedigree after being controversially chosen to host the World Cup in 2022.
