LONDON: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on Friday agreed to allow Welsh international midfielder Aaron Ramsey to return to his old club Cardiff City on a month’s loan.
The 20-year-old has just returned to fitness following a broken leg suffered at Stoke in February, and had a spell at Nottingham Forest to get some match practice.
“Following comments made by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on Friday, Cardiff City are pleased to confirm that an agreement has been reached between the clubs to see Aaron Ramsey rejoin the Bluebirds on loan,” said a Cardiff City statement.
“The paperwork is yet to be completed, with Aaron travelling to south Wales this evening with a view to sign on Saturday morning. The loan agreement is set to run until Feb 26 and includes our Championship (Second Division) match against Hull City.”
Ramsey joined the Gunners from the promotion-chasing Welsh club in a £5mil deal in June 2008.
