LONDON: Marvin Morgan, a striker with English Division Four side Aldershot, has been placed on the transfer list after claiming he wants his club’s fans to die.
Morgan launched his astonishing rant after being booed by Aldershot supporters when he was substituted following a lacklustre display in Monday’s 2-1 defeat against Hereford.
The 27-year-old, who has spent his career mostly playing at non-league level, used his account on the micro-blogging website Twitter to hit back at the fans and clearly let his emotions get the better of him.
“Like to thank the fans who booed me off the pitch.
“Where’s that going to get you! I hope you all die,” he wrote.
Aldershot were furious with Morgan’s outburst and punished him with an immediate suspension, a fine of two weeks’ wages and put him on the transfer list.
According to Aldershot, Morgan has expressed remorse, but the club branded the remarks “completely irresponsible”.
