Simao joins Besiktas from Atletico Madrid

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Besiktas says it has signed Portugal winger Simao Sabrosa from Atletico Madrid.
Besiktas said in a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange Friday that Simao had agreed to a two-and-a-half year contract.
He will be paid €2.2 million (US$2.8 million) this season, and €2.5 million each the following two seasons.
The 31-year-old Simao played for Sporting Lisboa, Barcelona and Benfica before spending the last three seasons with Atletico.
He joins fellow Portuguese player Ricardo Quaresma and former Real Madrid captain Guti in Besiktas.
The Istanbul side is currently fifth in the Turkish league, 14 points behind leaders Trabzonspor.
