Malaga sign two Atletico players


MADRID: Spanish First Division strugglers Malaga signed two players from rivals Atletico Madrid on Tuesday highly-rated Spanish Under-21 international defensive midfielder Ignacio Camacho and goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo.
Camacho, 20, signed a four year contract while Asenjo has gone on loan till the end of the season.
“Atletico Madrid and Malaga have agreed in principle for the sale of Ignacio Camacho and the loan till the end of the season of Sergio Asenjo,” Atletico announced on its website.
According to Spanish press reports Camacho has an option written into his contract that he can leave Malaga after two seasons.
Asenjo, 21 and a member of the Spain side that won the 2007 European Under-19 title, joined Atletico last year on a four year contract for €5.5mil from Real Valladolid but has recently lost his place in the team to David de Gea.
